A Nigerian Lady identified as Sophia Gold, has urged all her friends and females in general to add menstruation blood to their boyfriend’s food if he cheats on them. Sophia who feels cheaters aren’t meant to go scotfree has berated all females to try and put their period bloods in his stew. This of course made most of her male friends angry, and she was forced to delete the post.. Not until we got a screenshot of course. A meeting between the Nigerian government and university lecturers has ended without a resolution of the nationwide strike called by the union on Monday. The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, began a nationwide strike this week, over demands for improved funding of universities and welfare of lecturers. An earlier meeting with the government was also unsuccessful. Thursday’s meeting began at exactly 3:42 p.m. in Abuja. In his opening remark, the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, said ASUU did not follow the proper procedure before starting the strike. “There must be a mandatory letter of 15 days to labour, to education before going on strike,” he said, referring to the ministries of labour and education. “All agreements are supposed to be domiciled in ministry of labour in order to track implementation as agreement gives room to renegotiation,” Mr. Ngige. A 22-year-old 400 level student of the University of Lagos identified as Oluwaseyi Anyiam, has been dragged before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly defiling a fellow student. Anyiam is studying Actuarial Sciences and lives at Ogundare Street in Aguda, Surulere, Lagos. The police officer in charge of the matter, Inspector Simeon Imhonwa, told the court earlier that the accused committed the offence at Alaogomeji area of Ebute-Meta, Lagos on August 3 around 2pm. He explained, “The accused had forceful carnal knowledge of the victim, without her consent. “The accused had earlier invited the victim to an eatery at Alaogomeji, but on getting there, he told her that he forgot something at his house and they should both go to pick it. “When they got to the house, they met some of Anyiam’s friends at home playing loud music; so, they excused themselves and went into the room.” The prosecutor said that the accused offered the victim a drink wh...

  — 26th July 2017 The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) has called for the transfer of all the country’s oil revenue savings into the Nigerian Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA). Dr Orji Ogbonnaya Orji, the Director, Communications of NEITI, made the call in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja. Orji said that the position was made known in NEITI’s paper  titled: “The case for a robust oil savings fund for Nigeria’’, adding that position was informed by the transparency rating of the NSIA by the global Sovereign Wealth Institute.’’ He said that NSIA had been scored nine out of 10 on the Sovereign Wealth Institute’s transparency index, the highest score by any African Sovereign Wealth Fund.     Two French multi-role ‘Rafale’ fighters joined the Air Force Wednesday, Spokesperson of the Armed Forces Col. Tamer el-Refaei said in a statement. Refaei clarified that France has sent 11 out of 24 Rafale fighters to Egypt, between mid-2015 and 2017, as per the Egyptian-French agreement of strategic partnership, which includes multi- cooperation in armament and various military industries. Moscow: Russia threatened to retaliate against new sanctions passed by the US House of Representatives, saying they made it all but impossible to achieve the Trump administration’s goal of improved relations. The BVA has called on the government to maintain strict animal welfare standards and link them to continued farming subsidies following Brexit. Michael Gove, Secretary of State for the Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra), said in a speech this morning that "farm subsidies will have to be earned rather than just handed out in future."
